I and my college classmate Fiona met up with members of the Taipei Hiking Club 台北市山岳協會at 聖人橋站 for a beginner hike of 12 km with 650 meters (2100 feet) elevation gain in 33c (90f). Heat was not a big issue under the shades and breezes, but I hate steep downhill, and barely made it with a wooden stick found from the forest. I sweated badly, and had to wait for a bus operating very half hour both ways.
After the hike, we stopped at Shilin Night Market 士林夜市around 2:30 pm but the famous fried chicken steak store was not yet ready, so we went to Decathlon 迪卡儂to shop for sports gears. I got a 2-side sun hat with SPF 40 cost only 399 ($13). I will shop online to see what else to get.
Then we went to Eslite Bookstore 诚品書店中山店to eat dinner. We ordered 5-spice fried chicken 繼光香香雞 and two kinds of udon 烏龍麵 : Korean spice and original beef. My classmate jumped on the subway, while I walked 2 km back to hotel to burn some calories.
