I got up early this Saturday to return the laptop to my college junior who runs a cute breakfast restaurant 玫玫& 玫玫Cafe near my hotel. Thanks for his help and support during my quarantine hotel stay. He also fixed the zipper of my waive pouch today. The restaurant was busy in the morning so I did not stay long.
My next stop was another college junior’s home 30-min walk to chitchat over snacks and brunches from a nearby famous restaurant on 仁爱路:spicy chicken noodles (麻辣雞義麵)and fancy breakfast combinations. His daughter is flying back to FL to continue study, and I shared some $ saving tips for car ownership and health care. Thanks for his and his wife’s sponsorship of my delicious dinners during my quarantine.
The last stop was in a tea house 啞舍永康with three of my junior high classmates of an art talented class 金華女中首届美術班for a mini reunion (from New York, San Francisco, DC & Taipei). We got one other classmate joined shortly via LINE video call. About half of the class are in creative industries, such as design, advertisements, filming, etc. Thanks for one classmate’s sponsorship of my delicious lunches during my quarantine.
This tea house has elegant and classy setting with relaxing and cosy ambience. We ordered various fragrant tea and a sampler of tea pastries which were all very delicious. In addition, I really like their tofu pudding (純手工絹豆花,配料有白玉珍珠,桃膠,花生酥).
“Taiwanese tea culture includes tea arts, traditional tea ceremonies, and the social aspects of tea consumption in Taiwan. It can be traced back to its roots in Chinese tea culture. Many of the classical arts can be seen in the tea culture, such as calligraphy, flower arts, and incense arts.”
