Riga central bank & churches

I hide in the hotel watching YouTube to stay out of heavy rain in the morning, then walked around town to visit churches in light rain, such as St. John's Church, Nativity of Christ Cathedral, Riga Cathedral, etc. I even ran into a free live pipe organ performance in the ne church. It was not bad compared with drenched in 20-yr biggest flood in the Lake District in UK last year.

I also had the tourist office staff help me to book a 3 pm appointment at the Knowledge Centre "Money World" of the Bank of Latvia (the country’s central bank). Very tight security and it turned out to be a private tour, since the other party no show. It is an interactive financial education and information centre for the monetary policy, currency circulation and history of money delivered via multimedia presentations, short videos, computer games and various interesting elements, including coins embodying amber, and special euro money editions issued by different member countries. Latvia used the generic young girl symbol to represent the county’s young and vibrant independence.

In order to get to Riga Center Market before it’s fish sention close, I requested my center Al bank tour guide to cut the tour halftime. I finally bought smoke fish there. Initially, locals smoked the fish to preserve it. Today, they keep up with this tradition because they enjoy the taste. I picked the fish pieces with right size that I can finish in one meal The smoky flavor was ok, but the local fish i picked can be pike or plaice tasted a bit earthy for me.it is a tourist’s duty to make best out of any weather.
